Project
In our community garden in Amsterdam, we work on greening and sustainability in the neighbourhood. I Can Change the World with My Two Hands (ICC) shows what is possible when it comes to ecological gardening, composting and rainwater collection. We also inspire local residents to contribute to a healthier and more circular city.
Our garden is a green oasis with respect for nature and people, a place to find peace, walk around full of wonder, have a drink in the sun or take shelter from a rain shower in our glass greenhouse. We welcome neighbours, visitors, volunteers and everyone who feels connected to a greener city.
We garden organically and work with nature rather than against it. No chemical pesticides, instead we use our own compost, native flowers and heritage varieties that support biodiversity. Together we are happy to get our hands dirty for a cleaner world.
ICC is run by a community of around 30 gardeners and a dedicated group of volunteers. Together we organise 15 volunteer working days per year, run the Tuinkafe and host events such as the Harvest Festival. We were founded in 2011 and have been growing ever since.
